There is a big difference between accepting donations from our

A couple of years ago, I organized some of my thoughts on the pros

There are other considerations in the 501(c)(3) to make it work also
that don't just meet the eye. Regulations, representatives and such.
Also any one here that was with the ALHN at the time of the ALHN
501(c)(3) crisis, remembers well and we don't want that problem to hit
us here.
I am not even sure about adds and what that causes, maybe Pat can
offer something on that. But I decided to avoid all the sticky stuff and
stay add free and donation free. If a time comes I can't afford my
domains- before something happens to me or what ever, my counties would
be moved to other hosting my state uses for all the other counties.
In the case of free hosting, many counties still with rootsweb and
others who have a problem with that have moved on to their own hosting
or to some place else who has offered such. Having a full power domain,
I don't have a problem with hosting some one. Also access genealogy has
been hosting also. Maybe those States who have some solutions might also
add some comments. But 10 bucks a month is not a lot to pay to have a
wonderful site and feel great about putting something on line that when
found, gives another person great chills of a rare find they really
wanted - I know, because once, I was one of those people who found
something our people posted that broke my brick wall of one line.
Sometimes, there is more satisfaction in the giving. How ever, as
being on SS I full well know, some people in the project ( don't ) have
it to give. I was also one of those. Some how, we made it all those
16-8? years. Don't press the 501 status to our project. There has to
be other ways. If your in need of free hosting and don't like rw for
some reason and have not ask any one else. Remember, what I wrote there
are other places free.
