No bells charles, but thanks for the info. I will talk to some cousins and
see if it helps with their searches. Most of my familys that I know of--were
just "dirt farmers" in Erath co. I think the KITE family might have owned a
farm but the others did not. The Kunkel familys were a little better off and
the Masseys settled in Gray co around McLEan, tx. Most of the others were in
Bandera, Bowie and Milam co's.from 1860 to 1900 and then just spread out
across the state after that. The Nelms family was in the "Panhandle" tex.
area. The Battens moved to Calif. The Mc Cutcheons went all over and some of
the others I am still tracking. I will send your kind reply around to see if
it joggs anyones' notes.
thanks, judy hugg grimes.
Oh, the grimes were texas and kansas and then to Kingfisher okla and the
HUGG family was mostly from Erath to strawberry, ark. area, with a great
grand uncle in Beaumont a High School art teacher. The Lanes were in Arkansas
from Tx and the Rouninos--we have never found-anywhere as they married into
the Hugg family in Strawberry-but someone said that they thought there was a
large Polish or Italian group living in Bandera co. from the middle 1800's.!.
thanks again, JUDY
