Forgot to post it earlier- but Waco- McLennan County is having a book,
tape, record, and casette sale in the Waco this Saturday and sunday.
Tomorrow, Sunday, in the main hall-room of Waco Convention center. they
are selling any book you choose for $6.00 per large grocery sack full.
Yesterday hard backs $$1.00 and paperbacks 50 cents, .
Some are donated- some from Waco city- county libraries. There is a
Geneaology section, 10 or more tables of encyclopediaes and several
tables of old and rare books, priced differently.
Some are buying to sell on Ebay- one pair of dealers loop from their
Oregon store to Florida once a year and stop here and when their travel
truck is full, they mail or freight them back to their stores. They have
many American, world, and Texas history books. The sale starts on
Thursday for registerred Friends of the Library. You register at the
door- free admission.
Just up Austin Ave. about 6 blocks are other old book stores and a 2
story Cameron Trading antique mall downstairs and antiques, relics and
collectible flea market, including books on second floor , reached by
stairs or elevator. One antique barn on I-35 north near Ross has world's
largestcollection of dogs- posters, Buster Brown shoe signs, and anything
dog in the back of their antique barn.
Also, a Celtic Festival is in it's second year at Carleen Bright
Arboretum in Woodway west of Hwy 6 on Bosque Blvd. It rained out outdoor
activities out yesterday some of the time.
5000 were expected today to listen to Bagpipes, view arboretum and a
replica of historic Whitehall Baptist Church and re-enactors from
Waxahachie Celtic Festival. Park at church on Estates Drive or Raytheon
Aircraft harness plandt parking lot on Hewitt Drive and ride shuttle bus.
Today they may be able to park and walk from Woodway city hall parking
Put these on your calendar next year if you can't drive in today.
