Another WWII prison camp in Texas was at Gainesville: Camp Howze.
I saw a posting for the "World war 11 web site" it included
the prison camps . I think I saw it on this site. I lost it before I could mark it & I
sure would like to have it back.

Hi, I know some of them.
1. Mexia, Texas- presently used by the Mexia State \School for
2. Cleburne, Texas football field- the old rock bleachers built by WPA
in 1930's. Prisoners lived under the bleachers.
3. Hearne, Texas. This site has been searched with metal detectors and
4. Texas High plains somewhere near Lubbock or Pep. . The Catholic
Church there was painted and completely decorated and remodelled by
prisoners at their request. This one has been featured in Texas Co-op
Power and Texas Monthly magazines.
There were many others.
