Thought I would subscribe to this list in the hopes of findings some "lost"
My gr-gr-gr-grandfather, William Hammett THRASH, had 3 brothers and 1 sister
who left Georgia and moved to Texas. Am looking for information and/or
THRASH, Robert L., b. September, 1864, GA, died unknown. According to the
Will of his brother, John F. THRASH, dated 6/19/1915, Robert was then (1915)
living in Dublin, TX.
Just received today from a cousin the following info:
Listed on 1900 Census Index in Texas:
R L Thrash, September 1864, age 35, Georgia
Vol 52, 83, (couldn't read), line 94
Hasnelton (sp?) county, Pct 2
Mattie, wife, March, 1868, age 32, Georgia
Mattie L., Daughter, November, 1893, age 6, Alabama
This is the first news I've had of his marriage/children. He may have had
So, I'm not sure which county he was in in 1900 (Hamilton, Harrison,
Henderson???). Anyway, by 1915 he was in Erath County. Mattie would have
been 21 or so by then. Perhaps she married and raised a family there? If
anyone has access to marriage records, I'd sure appreciate a lookup on her.
Also, if anyone has access to cemetery records, I'd appreciate a lookup on
Robert L. or Mattie THRASH.
The other 2 I'm looking for are:
THRASH, Joseph H., b. abt. 1872, GA, died unknown. According to John's Will,
Joseph lived in Dallas, TX.
THRASH, Mattie D., b. abt. 1874, GA, married unknown McGinnis, died unknown.
According to John's Will, Mattie lived in Galveston, TX.
I've found info on THRASH, John F., b. abt. 1854, GA, died 9/13/1915, Dallas,
TX. According to his Will he owned the Dallas Boiler Works at the time of
his death. Don't believe he had children as his Will left assets to a wife,
stepson, nephews, brothers and sisters.
If you descend from any of the above, I have lots of info to share. Please
e-mail me at ptm2754(a)cs.com.
