I received different varieties of the Klez virus, but not through attachments.
I was receiving multiple blank messages. These were all from people I did not
know. When I checked the source of the message, there were usually two
different addresses given. In some cases, the address not visible in the
message as displayed in my e-mail was someone I did know. I started sending
them messages which told them that I had gotten a virus from them.
I also received several which mentioned an update for WinXP. I don't have
WinXP. I set my browser to filter out these messages (those with WinXP in
them). Since doing that, I have had no further problems.
Most of the attachments that I receive are too valuable to me for me to never
open any of them. I do not open attachments from people that I don't know.
Before opening them, I always check the title. There are some that I do not
open if I am not sure about them. In that case, I send a message back asking
I update Norton at least once a week and scan at least once a week. I have
Norton running all the time, but still this virus got through. It was
discovered during a scan. I delete them when I find them.
It is probably many sources that are sending viruses through out.
Yes I update my Norton once a week and scan everything. I have been hit
I have been getting e-mails form people I dont know with attachments.
Norton has caught everyone of them. I do not open attachment. I delete
then go to recycle bin and delete it there.
I was advised to do this. It has worked well so far.
