Dear Wyly clan,
I just got back from visiting a son and his family in Georgia. They drove
me to Hwy 51 just out of Clarksvills, and in less than 20 minutes we found
Oliver Cromwell Wyly's tombstone. It is not in good shape, and it was sad
to see only one Wyly baby (son of John?) buried next to him. All those
childten and three wives, and none of them there.
If you go, Indian Creek Baptist cemetery is on the north part of Hwy. 51
just north of I 85.
Last summer we toured Travelers' Rest, home of James R. Wyly, Oliver's dad.
The park service man opened the place just for 6 of us.
