Hi, Where do they think Billy's mother is buried? According to a Book
published in Hico, she died in Buffalo Gap, Texas while his dad was -
William (?) Roberts- in the Civil War. Little Billy's aunmt came to get
him- a Mrs. McCarty. She took him to Oklahoma , where his dad had gone to
join Quantrill or Jesse James- when all of these "Knights of The Golden
Circle" James Brothers, Daltons and some of Quantrill.s gang were having
a summer get together and jesse taught him to ride full speed and shoot
under the Horse's neck, Indian style, like Mr Courtney of Eddy , Texas
did. some of the james gang ended up in Bell County, Texas.
Billy was 12, and his mom re- married a Bonney who moved to new Mexico.
Now, It is my understanding that DNA from omo to a son is increasingly
inaccurate each generation. If they dig up a lady in New Mexico- she
wasn't Billy's mom, but his Aunt- not sure if she was a sibling of his
dad or his mom- thought it was his mom.
Two little Wyly Girls, first cousins to Great Grandad Robert & his
siblings in Erath and Comanche, were with their dad, Augustine Clayton
Wyly when he left Atlanta to buy merchandise for the 4 story Wyly family
Warehouse and store in Atlanta- Peachtree and Prtyoir. I was contacted by
a Bob Jones of Liverpool, England- shipyards" When Liverpool was Dixie."
Bob and other retirees have established a trail near Liverpool of at
least 40 Confederate Graves. A.C. had 2 dayughtere who died there of
Diptheria and he and an Edmiston cousin saw the girls buried. Ben
returned from Civil War to find store damaged And A.C. moved to Kansas
City. By 1890, Ben Wyly (buried in Comanche) had joined about 10 of his
Siblings in Erath County
This group of Retirees in Liverplool believe the number of Confederate
graves might pass 200, but they have 40 marked. For the grave to have a
new official Trail marker they must contact a MALE DESCENDANT OF a. c.
wYLY. we FOUND 1- A
Mr. Gammon, but the Church leaders did not feel the research was
complete for a Church &- civil Consecration- Dedication ceremony and a
new marker, so the graves are maintained and have the headstone placed by
their dad as the only marker. A.C.'s mom, Sarah Hawkins Clark ( Sevier)
Wyly mom was a Georgia Missionary Baptist from an Integrated North
Georgia Church. in 1840's . She married J.R Wyly in her Grandad Gov. John
Sevier's home in Knoxville, where=she had lived some. .

Union Ship ailed into Liverpool Harbor and sunk a new Confederate Ship
about to be deliverred to the Confederacy- in British Waters, not
International waters. The Atlanta store was damaged by Sherman, but
still stands, useable.Sherman did not burn the 1840 Jackson, Miss City
Hall - it is still used. he knew the papers of the Confederacy at that
time- 1865 were in the basement in a Masonic Lodge hall and he refused to
After the Civil War, sherman went home to his own plantation and refused
to release his own sslaves, resisting he law with weapons.
