Charles, I am unable to correct or confirm your post. The Allison
connection I have to this Wheeler line migrated to TX from GA. I have
the direct line documented and there is no Allison as you mention below.
This Robert Wheeler and his mother, Julie Ann Allison Wheeler jump from
the 1880 Montague County census to the Erath 1910 census. So I am
fishing for kin of the Wheelers to see if they know where they were.
With the age of this Julie, I also would suspect that she might have
died in Erath County but again that is a guess I need to confirm or
Thanks for the respons .... Gil

please correct me if I am wrong, but mom attended Selden Church with
Ammabelle Allison and I think she lived in Selden on road from kay
Wyly farms towards Evergreen. Wasn't she the mother of Tarleton
University Coach Johnny Dunn? I attended SHS and Tarleton at the same
time he was there, shining in Football. This Allison was in Selden
Community in 1920's
Before that, the Crockett School was across Hwy 67 and Evergreen
was down the old Dirt Hwy 67, which joined Hwy 281 in the Valley
Guess you know about the very old Ben Wheeler community and church
between Tyler and Canton, near Van, Texas.
