My name is Charles Petty. I reside in Florida, but have family ties to Erath County.
My GGFather Francis Marion (aka F.M.) Petty appears to have lived there for a number of
years. He was married to Mary A. Fuller, in 1867 in Marshall, Tx.
He appears to have lived in Dublin.
I have a copy of his CONFEDERATE PENSION APPLICATION, where-in he states that
he had worked as a "Photograpth Enlarger". He is also listed in the Record of
Marks and Brands, Erath County under law of 1874. he is listed as #2004 on page #84, dated
10, May 1880. He is listed as having lived in Precinct #1. His wife is listed in the same
Record as # 2438 on page #102 of the same Record in Precinct #6.
If you have any information relating to either of them, I would greatly appreciate
Thanking You in Advance,
I remain, Charles Petty

Subject: Re: [ERATH] Selden - Old Hatchett Cemetery
no I meant to go right to Indian Creek, next to a litle house of Great
Uncle Ed and Aunt Phoene Fleming. The only way out is the way you came
in, back to the Church yard. Across the road from the church is the
Selden Road going the opposite way from the cemetery. I am noit talking
about Indian Creek in Comanche County.
Now, I have photos of the first Selden Church which was moved from Indian
Creek church and School, where Aunt Susie taught
HOW DID THEY MOVE IT IN HORSE & BUGGY DAYS- THAT FAR AND NOT EXACTLY
FLAT LAND OR WIDE BRIDGES BACK THEN.
The old church at Selden was behind the present one, first bank or step
below the hill. Probably had a street from the spring to the church.
Take care, and Thanks,
Charles A. Wyly
