ROUND GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH
Round Grove Baptist Church was organized July 15, 1871, with sixteen
charter members.. It closed in March, 2000. Round Grove Cemetery is at the
site of Round Grove Church, on Armstrong Creek and in the Highland
Community, about 10 mi. NW of Dublin near the Comanche Co. line.
Elayne Pair Gibbons <Epg51(a)aol.com> recorded the Round Grove Cem. in
March, 2001. She put it online at http://hometown.aol.com/epg51/page12.html
Elayne wrote (8 June 2001): "There is no longer a Round Grove Association,
but Round Grove was in Erath Baptist Association. As far as I know Erath
Assoc. did not have an office by itself, but it was a part of Tri-Rivers
Baptist Area, which was headquartered in Gatesville. The best place to
trace some of that might be through the Baptist General Convention of Texas,
which has offices in Dallas (address used to be on Akard St., but I think
they built a new building)."
Barbara J. Hughes <bjhughes33(a)hotmail.com> wrote 6 June 2001 that at least
seven, maybe nine, of the charter members of the Round Grove Baptist Church
were related to her.
What is the name of your grand uncle? Is he buried at Round Grove? Where do
you live? If you are planning a trip to Dublin, I can tell you how to get to

My grand uncle was a charter member of the Round Grove Baptist Church -
can someone tell me about this church? Is there a Round Grove, TX where
the church was located or is that just the name of the church? Is it
still in existence?
Thanks for your help,
