there is no Stevensville. The town was named after the Stephen, not
Stevens or Stephens families. The only Knowles I knew while living in
Erath County, was "Pappy" Knowles o9f Waco who, as a teenager, won the
International Invitational motorcycle stunt riding contest in Fort
Worth- Dallas Texas State Centenial in 1936. He ran the Harley Davidson
dealership in Waco for 30- 40 years.
I also knew a public school teacher in Waco University Middle School who
had the same Knowles name. There are 9 Knowles families listed in the
Waco phone book. Don't know about them but the Koonsmans of McLennan
County are the same lineage as the Erath County and Hico Koonsmans.
McClennan County Jnowles families include C.M. , Charles E., Daryl,
Janis, Kenneth, Nicole, Ron, and Timothy.
Hope this helps.

I am trying to make connections with anyone that has knowledge or or
connections to the Joseph Hamilton KNOWLES (b. abt 1827) family of
Stevensville, Texas. Joseph H. Knowles married Nancy Morris SKINNER
1842) of Alabama.
They were the parents of at least five children, John Alvah, E.A.,
Ora, and George Murphy.
Any information at all would be greatly appreciated! I would gladly
and share what ever information I have with anyone interested in this
