Hik I was just re-reading thiws messsage closer than first connections
and saw more. The Salmon family did and do run a store in Hoico, Texas
for 2 or 3 generations.
Ben Wyly- - wasn't your dad's first wife married to Matry Mefford?
Also, I did not spot the Arendell connection at first. Nancy Wyly Hise is
doing a workup of our Great Grandad George Milton Moxley who had
connections to the Arendell family and Darnell and Arnold and Higdon and
Higbee and Fleming families. , descendants of Tom Arendell, who built
the log Cabin on present Moncrief dairy between Selden and Pleasant Hill-
or Chigger Hill. Garvin Wood , now past 90, moved the old cabin to his
Dairy home several years ago between Selden and Dr. (Great Great Grandad
) William Pinckney Hatchett's 2 story plantation style home. he moved it
one log and rock at a time, numberred before loading, and has the
original Dirt Floor in it (Gotcha) .
Can anyone elaborate on any of this?
Ben, was your dad Fred or Frank Wyly?- Fred , I think- and he and Mary
mefford stood up at a Greens Creek wedding of a Dublin area keith at
Greens Creek Church. And Also, Ben, which Wyly- Ben F. #1,2, or 3 has a
historic Markewr on Galveston Island near Bolivar Ferry entrance, where
the Export Cotton Compress was run by Bare Foot ( Ben Franklin Wyly) and
I saw a photo of him at a drilling rig with suit and hat and tie and
shoes over his shoulder- but have been unable to find the Waco photo of
the Concrete delivery they ran in Waco - early 1900's.

Thanks for the info. I spent a little time searching on Rootsweb
I think I found your Wyly-Mefford marriage, and some information
about my own Martha Mefford.
The book on the Salmon family by Christabel Hargett Cook says the
parents of Martha Ann Mefford (b. 1844), who married Joseph Salmon,
Jr. (1837-1910), were William Ewing Mefford and Lucinday Arendell.
Using that information, I located them on Rootsweb:
(William Ewing Mefford)
(Lucinda Findell Mefford)
The following is extracted from the information there, which was
furnished by Lorna Schilke, lsch1510(a)aol.com in 2001.

Obviously, I can't vouch for any of this, but perhaps Lorna Schilke
can still be contacted.
You may already have all this since in an earlier message you
mentioned info about "Fred" Wyly available on Rootsweb. I thought I
would post it anyway since the Mefford line has been uncertain.

The Wyly-.Mefford marriage was in Erath county, Texas. I do not
where Mary Mefford or Roy Mefford's family came from- could have
Kentucky. .Buck Roberson has a leg buried at Pony Creek- Box
he is buried at Johnsville Church of Christ. Dad and Roy were
same age, born shortly after 1901. .
