This message is a test to determine if we have the names and correct
email addresses of all USGenWeb Project volunteers who are eligible
to vote in the upcoming USGenWeb Election. If you know of someone
who should have received this message, and hasn't, please contact
your State Coordinator and let them know as soon as possible.
The USGenWeb Election will start on July 1, 1998, and run until July
31, 1998. We will be electing a new National Coordinator, voting on
proposed Bylaws and electing State Coordinators and County
Coordinators to The USGenWeb National Advisory Board.
All eligible voters will vote for the National Coordinator and the
proposed Bylaws. The states have been divided into 4 regions, and
each region will elect a State Coordinator Representative, and 2
County Coordinator Representatives.
The Regions are:
a) Northeast/North Central Region:
Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New
Hampshire,
New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin
b) Southeast/Mid-Atlantic Region:
Alabama, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky,
Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Tennessee,
Virginia, West Virginia
c) Northwest/Plains Region:

Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming
d) Southwest/South Central Region:
Arizona, Arkansas, California, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri,
Nevada,
New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah
The terms will be:
1. National Coordinator - one-year term
In order to make the terms of the State Coordinator and County Coordinators
"staggered" so that half of them will be elected each year, there will be
special guidelines for the 1998 election.
2. Four (4) State Coordinator Representatives will be elected; two (2) for two-year
terms and two (2) for one-year terms. One-year terms will
be determined by "drawing straws" or its cyberspace
equivalent.
3. Eight (8) County Coordinator Representatives
will be elected; four (4) for two-year terms and four (4)
for one-year terms. One-year terms will be determined "drawing
straws" or it's cyberspace equivalent..
This message requires no action on your part.
Thank you
The USGenWeb Election Committee
