You folks think going through a bunch of queries that don't pertain to your
county are bad, well as you know my last name is Smith, and that is my
married name. My husband isn't interested in where his roots were, and
since we don't have any kids I haven't tackled this surname. However, this
is typical of what I receive on a daily basis:
I'm trying to start a family tree. My grandfathers name was
Winfred Smith he
was killed in the tornado that came thru Lawrence County 2 years ago. His
fathers name was Shirley Smith. I think the family had lived in Lawrence
County for a long time. I saw your last name was Smith so i thought i'd give
it a shot... Thank You for any info you may have....
Not too bad he gives me a couple of counties, which could be in most any
state, and a few names. At least I can tell him to go the funeral home to
get some information.
The best "Query of the Day" I received about a year ago -- send me all you
have on WITTS. I wrote back and told him to go visit the database online,
and he wrote back telling me I was rude and did I have something against
the WITT surname. ::sigh::
They are out there folks, and many shouldn't have license to drive a car
let alone a baby buggy or a mouse. <VBG>
