FYI:
From the Rootsweb Customized Settings on mail lists:
"Allow only subscribers to access archive via e-mail?
Once the new archiving system is in place, there will only be a limited
number of messages available
via the e-mail archive: probably the last two or four weeks' messages. This
switch has no effect on
the web archives for your mailing list, if they exist. If you do not want
your messages archived for web access, add the address
archiver(a)lists.rootsweb.com to the reject list for your mailing list, and
remove indexer(a)searches.rootsweb.com from the digest list.
yes no"
Maybe this would solve the problem. :-)

Why were we told the mail list was being moved? Because it was being

I ask you all to read the following paragraph from Onelists terms of service.
This may spark new controversy. Do I think the discussion should go to
tnchat? No! It was announced here so lets discuss it here. This affects all
of us not just the ones subscribed to tnchat.
<<from Onelist>>
ONELIST is providing Member with a capability to send email to multiple
recipients via the ONELIST mailing list system. In addition, ONELIST is
providing Member with the capability to create and manage mailing lists. All
email messages sent through the ONELIST mailing list system may be archived
and viewable on the ONELIST World Wide Web site.
To read the whole terms of service go to:
http://www.onelist.com/info/tos.html
Further, in all of the free and for charge mail lists I have seen, there is a
clause that says they are archived.
I say let the majority rule and leave the mail list where it is! We are all
adults and know better than to post our real addresses or social security
numbers.
