Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Congratulations to the re-election of Tim Stowell as the National
Coordinator of the USGenWeb Project.
One thing is for sure -- the TNGenWeb project would have had a person
in the top position, no matter what. LOL.
Tough race.
Bridgett <-- who is looking forward to Sept 1 -- no longer in one of
those "hot seats" at that time <G>
Hi folks,
Thought I would let you know that RootsWeb now has the SSDI online,
it is the most recent release June 1999 containing 61,664,927
records.

Hi folks,
Here he is! There he goes!
Fred has been online a bit recently, but his ISP is down again today,
Think it will be like this for a few days yet.
Anything important, just holler at me.

I just wanted to pass this along to you again.......this guy is spamming

Hi Bridgett
I guess you might say I was hidin out!! No problem about the voting! I
really don't know yet what is going on. Still taking lessons from our
wonderful Nancy! (Thanks Nancy! ;o) )

If you were a county host prior to June 1, 1999 (am 99% sure this is
the cut off date) then your name was submitted to the election
committee. Julie, as Nancy said you were a "silent" partners -- so
much so I didn't know about you <G>
Mari -- apparently the email addy sent in was aria(a)bna.bellsouth.net
which was probably my error as I saw the addy after the @ sign and
probably ignored the user ID before the sign. ::sigh:: HOWEVER, in
the past if emails bounced they came back to me for verification --
in the case of the online voting from the webpage I don't know how
they were handling it.
Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused you.

Hiya Julie,
You were a sort of silent partner on Morgan when the voting lists went in.
I strongly suspect you were not listed as an eligible voter.
And the voting folks say that you can not be added at this late date.

Hiya Mari,
You have had a couple of different e-mail addresses in recent times.
I don't have a way to know which one Bridgett submitted. If you can, try
them all.
One thing I know for sure is that you often list your address as
lyric(a)bellsouth.net and in some cases it is not recognized unless you use
the full lyric(a)bna.bellsouth.net
One of your addresses WILL work because you have been here way too long to
have been left off the eligible voters list.

Greetings,
Copied below is a message from my TNWARREN mailing list. To verify the
authenticity of the statements in that message, I called the Sullivan
County MO Sheriff, Bill Hayes. He does verify the statements and says
the destruction was terrible. The message below asked for those who care
to help should contact a Rick Thurlo.
Sheriff Hayes states that Mr Thurlo is a retired school teacher and a
member of the Cemetery Board.
I have contacted Mr Thurlo.
He supplies this information for those of us who are able to help.

$1,500.00 REWARD
For information leading to the arrest and conviction
Of the "Person or Persons" responsible for the destruction of the
headstones at the Hoover Cemetery, in Sullivan Co., Mo. This happened
sometime between the Afternoon of Saturday, August 7, 1999 and the
evening of Friday, August 13, 1999. The party collecting the REWARD can
in no way be involved in the crime. Anyone having information should
contact the Sullivan County Sheriff's office in Milan, MO., phone
1-660-265-3313.
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------
I viewed the destruction personally and could not believe my eyes. There
have been earthquakes that haven't caused this much destruction. There
are stones turned over in every row, some whole rows , some huge stones
weighing a ton or more. The smaller limestone headstones were kicked,
broke off there bases, then thrown against other stones and busted in
pieces. The price tag to repair the cemetery will no doubt be in the
thousands of dollars. But sadder yet are those stone that will be gone
forever, stones of old Civil War Vets and young children of the area's
oldest ancestors. I can not think of a punishment worthy of this crime.
Cemeteries are meant for one thing, a final resting place for our loved
ones so they can take their place in history to be remembered. Pictures
can be view at the andereck/bug address below
Donations to aid in the repair can be made by contacting Rick Thurlo
1-660-946-4250. I'm sure there are some of you out there that have
folks buried in Hoover. If any of you know of any other financial
channels we can explore, such as state aid, etc.. please let me know.
This project will need all the help it can get.

Hi,
I have someone that wants to volunteer for this project in Carroll county. I
really don't know anything about it. Does anyone have any information about
it?
Thanks
Tawsha Hubbard
Morning folks,
Here is this week's list of queries posted with invalid e-mail addresses.
Additionally, the search engine has been updated and should now include
every TNGenWeb County including TNFirst which was ornery last week.
Jim also wrote a script to verify bad links. ACK! We have 658 of them
throughout the Project. As I get time I will attempt to email you
individually, if I fail at that I may have to post the whole awful thing.

Hi Friends-
The Montgomery County Schools Project has just been completed. This
photo album includes pictures of both school and students of the early
1900's. Also, on our site are a number of class rosters dating back to
1910-1925. These rosters give student name, parent name and addresses
when known. Drop by and take a look. Additions have also been made to
our Surname list and Biographical Directory.
A number of us are working on the latest project which is a photo album
of People and Places in Montgomery County. We are working hard to
collect photos for this page. Hope to have this up and running by end
of the month.
A special thanks to Sandra Stacey for all of her help with the School
pictures.
Enjoy browsing!
