I think we have discussed this before. My preference is to *not* list
my email address on the state page. I want researchers to go to my
county webpage, look it over and then contact me if they have any
questions.

Good morning to all:
Have added the Roster of Co. C, 2nd Tennessee Mounted Infantry, USV to the
page of unit rosters of Wayne County, Tennessee soldiers in the Civil War.
And have also reworked the three other rosters from the 2nd Tennessee
Mounted Infantry that were already up. Now you can read the information as
it was supposed to be.
http://www.netease.net/wayne/union.htm
or
http://www.netease.net/wayne/staff2TMI.htm
This last will get you to the first page of the rosters and you can follow
the links to the other companies that are up and running.
Hope to add at least two more companies by the end of next week.
And I'm pleased to announce that we've had over 1800 visitors since I added
to counter to the main page on 5 Feburary 1998.
Happy Hunting

Hi Fellow CC's,
I am assisting Fred with a project for the TNGenWeb. This site is called
People of Color in Old Tennessee.
I would like to add links to your county if you have information related to
African American research.
This information can be specific. For example census (slave schedules).
Or general information that contains slave data. For example, wills, deeds,
bill of sales, etc.
Please send me the title of the information along with the URL.
Thanks to all for your help.
Best regards,

Hi everyone,
I just thought I would let everyone know how well Shelby County,
TN's webpage is doing. I have only been the coordinator since the end of
January and I have only had the counter running since February 2, 1998.
We have had 1012 visitors as of today. I can't believe that we have had
over 1000 visitors in less of 2 months. I am really new at being a
coordinator and never expected this kind of volume of users. Sorry if
this email is a bother to some. If it is please hit the delete button.
Just thought I would share my happy news.

Chip and others who have sites on USIT. To start your counter up you need
to add this code to your page:
<!--#exec cgi="/cgi-bin/tncount.cgi"-->
You can surround it by text, you can even change the font color and size if
you wish.
After doing this and getting your pages uploaded you need to write to Jim
Cole, our software engineer, at greyleaf(a)amnix.com and let him know that
you want the counter started up and give him the URL to that page, i.e.,
union/index.html -- you also might tell him to start the counter at a
certain number and this can be done.
Please note, that Jim works a full time job and long hours and it may take
a day or two to see your counter start working.

Many of you probably have a page listing hard to find genealogy books for
your respective counties, probably some of you don't (I don't BTW, and
should). What brought this up is the below request I received from a patron
of our site:

This is just a suggestion, not mandatory.
For the heck of it, I went to www.amazon.com and entered Genealogy
Tennessee in their search form -- came up with many book titles -- with a
notation on a lot of those books that they are "hard to find".

Speaking of wacko queries, I got one the other day requesting info on a
person x with the explanation that he was an enima of his mother's family.
I wrote back asking what the heck enima meant, ENEMY or enema or what? :)

I believe I'm correct in my thinking that the state page doesn't currently
show the CCs email address associated with the counties. If it doesn't,
you have my permission/plea to include my email address under the counties
I host.
I just realized that my page has no counter and hasn't since I left AOL. I
feel naked without one. Does TnGenWeb provide CGI for this? if so can anyone
let me know the html I need to add?

Hello Everybody!
Anderson County Tennessee is alive and well! Here is what is new on
Anderson County Tennessee TNGenWeb site !!
Now have the Anderson County Revolutionary Soldiers on line. Each soldier
had an article with his name and each has a link to the article...still in
process of adding the articles...but the link is ready for you to veiw the
list of soldiers, anyway....
Just put a place for reunions on the page...better get those announced
before long so everyone can set their calendars for that most important
date!! You have been waiting ALL year for this moment!! Gotta get your
stuff ready...<G>
Have also put a page for Bible records. You can send your Bible records and
have them posted on the page...Check it out...A Worthington bible is already
there!
Anderson County has had over 4,000 hits since November 1997! I would like
to thank everybody for stopping by and taking a gander at the page...dont
forget..you can also rate the page through the geocities banner at the top
of the page and you still can meet the county host through the "photo" on
the page...
Thanks for stopping by!!

Evening Everyone,
Tonight I just uploaded a few new or modified files for Sumner County:
--The Surnames, Queries and Researchers page has been updated.
--A number of e-mail address changes were made for Sumner researchers.
--A new Fry-Frey-Frye Family Reunion was added to the 1998 Family
Reunions page.
--A correction was made to Early Sumner County Marriage file "CL".
--A broken link was fixed for the Tennessee Genealogy -- Census
Information Available.
--A correction was made to the James Thomas Baber Bell Family Album
file. (Child #7 was added.)
That's it for tonight. I have a number of Family Album files to
complete and will get them uploaded this weekend!
Just a reminder for those who have asked -- the Merchant's Journals
files are located under Tax Records and Other Lists. If you ever have
questions about the locations of new files, be sure and check the
"What's New" link. The new files will also be listed there.
Have a great week!
