Florence B. Julian
Mrs. Florence B. Miller Julian, 86, Life Care Center of Elizabethton,
formerly of 1700 West Elk Avenue, Stanley's Trailer Park, Lot No. 9,
Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at
Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Julian was a native and lifelong resident of Carter County and the
daughter of the late Floyd and Nora Elliott Miller. In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clyde Julian, December 18,
1989; four sisters, Madge Chambers, Bell Morgan, Pauline Julian and Georgia
Ingram; and an infant twin brother, Willie Miller.
Mrs. Julian was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Roan Mountain. She
was a former employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a homemaker. She
enjoyed making a garden, growing flowers and canning.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Johnny Palmer,
Peggy and Allen Dugger, Patricia and Elmer Honeycutt Jr., all of Elizabethton,
and Claudette and Romily Woodby, Hampton; three sons and two daughters-in-law,
Lester and Pauline Julian, Elizabethton, Freddy Julian, Hampton, and Randy and
Sherry Julian, Elizabethton; two sisters, Flossie Tolley, Elizabethton, and
Nellie Julian, Roan Mountain; 14 grandchildren, including one special
granddaughter, Windy Williams, Elizabethton; nine great-grandchildren; four
half brothers; three half sisters; and one aunt, Rowena Greene, Roan Mountain.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Julian will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday,
April 7, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry
Honeycutt, Rev. Steve Burleson and Rev. Jim Perkins officiating. The eulogy
will be provided by a grandson, David Dugger. Music will be under the direction
of Rev. Jerry and Patty Honeycutt, Eddie Palmer and Rev. Dean Presnell. The
family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday,
prior to the service, or you may call at the home of a daughter, Mary Palmer,
173 Coal Chute Road, Elizabethton, at anytime. The graveside service and
interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, in the Johnson
Cemetery in the Crabtree community of Roan Mountain. Everyone attending the
graveside service is asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday to
go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be the following
grandsons: Jonathan Palmer, Michael Dugger, David Dugger, Daniel Dugger, Robby
Julian, Jason Julian, Christopher Julian and Gerald Woodby. Honorary
pallbearers will be J.R. Julian, Evan Julian, Chris Williams, the staff of Life
Care Center of Elizabethton, members of Victory Baptist Church, members of
Southside Free Will Baptist Church and her sons-in-law, Allen Dugger, Elmer
Honeycutt Jr., Johnny Palmer and Romily Woodby. Those who prefer memorials in
lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Mrs. Julian to the Victory
Baptist Church, P.O. Box 100, Roan Mountain, TN 37687. Condolence messages may
