Mr. W. R. Oldham, aged 86 years 5 months and 15 days, died at Petersburg of
the infirmities of old age at the residence of his granddaughter, Mrs. Roy
Allison, on Wednesday, September 2, 1925. Sixty-four years ago he enlisted
under the Confederate banner and during those days which tried the fiber of
one's soul, he was wounded seven times, and there never lived a Confederate
who was more loyal to the cause. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Funeral service was conducted by Rev. R. K. Morgan. Burial at Salem.
