This indenture made this 28th day of Msrch 1863 between William Rodgers of the
county of knox and the state of tennessee of the one part and William H Smith
of the county of knox and the state of tennessee of the other part witness that
the said william rodgers for and in consideration of three thousand dollars to
him in hand paid the illegible where of is herby acknowlegde hath bargained and
sold by these agrements doth convey and confirm to the said William H. Smith
his heirs and asigns forever a certain track of land situated on the waters of
Turkey creek bounded as follows Beginning on a cedar coner to illegible land
thence running north 40 degrees West 80 poles to a post oak near ths coner of
illegible field thence North crosing lich branch 96 poles to a red oak and a
hickory on the east bank of said branch thence South 56 degrees West 268 poles
to a stake on the top of the ridge thence South 32 degrees East112 1/2 poles to
a stake with post oak thence North 55 degrees East 44 poles to a black oak
thence South32 degrees East 136 polesto a stone coner thence North 61 degreesc
East 78 poles to a stake Caseys Corner thence North 42 degrees West 62 ploes to
a stake in the middle of Lows Ferry Road thence North 26 degrees 106 poles to
the begining containing by estimate two hundred and thirty five acres with all
appurtenaces there to belongingthe said William Rodgers for himself and his
heirsto the said William H Smith and his heris and asigins will warrant and
defens forever aginest the lawful claim of all and every person whatsoever by
their presents as indefeasible inhertance in full simple

personally aquiantedand aknowledge tha he excuted
