Estate Inventory of William Tune husband of Lurana Scurlock Tune.
An Inventory and appraisment of the estate of William Tune, deceased taken
this 1st day of February, 1832.
Cyrus a Negro man Slave $200.00
Chester a Negro boy " $275.00
Aggy a Negro woman " $275.00 Note:
Possible other name Agnes. William Tune's father Travis Tune's will left unto
William a Negro girl named Agnes. See will for Travis Tune, dated 1818 and
recorded 1827 in Halifax County, Virginia.
Israel a small Negro boy Slave $125.00
George a small Negro boy " $100.00
Daniel a small Negro boy " $100.00
1 Negro Boy sold by the Admr. some time ago for $275.00

Pursuant to an order of Halifax Court hearing date March Court 1831. We the
undersigned appraisers proceeded on the first day of the present month to
appraise the estate of William Tune decd. having been sworn we do report the
foregoing list as the result of this our labour. Given under our hands this
24th day of February 1832.

At a court held for Halifax County the 27th day of January 1832 the within
written Inventory and appraisement of the estate of Wm. Tune decd. was
returned to court and ordered to be recorded.

Note: The date of the court recording of the inventory states 27th of January
1832. Possibly it was the month of February as the inventory was presented
24th of February 1832.
Additional Comments:
William Tune, son of Travis and Milly Daniel Tune of Halifax County, Virginia
married Lurana Scurlock on September 26, 1803 in Halifax. After his death
Lurana and many of the children came to Tennessee. Lurana lived with her son
Demarcus Tune of Bedford and Franklin counties and was last seen on the 1870
census living in the home of her daughter Elizabeth Tune McAdams, wife of John
A. McAdams in District 6, Bedford, Tennessee.
