John Emberson deed of conveyance to Robert Travis 7 acres
This indenture made the eighteenth day of December [?] in the year of
Lord 1829 between John EMERSON of Franklin county and State of
Tennessee of the one part and Robert TRAVIS of the place [sic] of the
other part;
witnesseth that the said John EMERSON for and in consideration of the
sum of twenty-seven dollars to him in hand paid by the said Robert
TRAVIS, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained,
[?], and sold to the said Robert TRAVIS, his heirs and assigns forever,
a tract of land in said county on the head of Dry Creek;
beginning at a Hickory and Black Oak standing in the South boundary of
MANFORD, 5000 acre tract where L[?] trail crosses the same runs West
with said line seven poles to a Buckeye at the foot of the mountain;
thence South twenty-five [?] East with said mountain, twenty poles to a
Hickory and Sassafras;
thence East boundary on mountain forty-four poles to an Ash and Redbud;
thence North thirty-eight[?] East twenty-eight poles to Hickory in
MANFORD's before mentioned line and with the same West to the beginning;
including said EMBERSON sugar cane [?] and said TRAVIS improvement and
containing seven acres be the same, more or less, to have and to hold
the aforesaid land with all, singular, and [?] thereunto belonging or
in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behalf of him, the
Robert TRAVIS, his heirs and assigns, and the said John EMBERSON for
himself, his executors, and administrators, doth covenant and agree to
and with the said Robert TRAVIS, his heirs and assigns, that the before
recited land and bargained promises he will warrant and forever defend
against the right claim of interest of all and every person whatever in
witness whereof the said John EMBERSON hath set his hand an affixed his
seal the day and year first above written, signed, sealed, and
delivered in presence of

Then the within deed Franklin County of conveyance from John EMBERSON
to Robert TRAVIS for 7 acres was duly acknowledged in open court by the
said John EMBERSON to be his act and deed and ordered to be registered,
let it be registered
