I have an 1829 Ärtemark (P) bouppteckning translation online in draft form.
It was short and similar to others so I think most of it is OK, but I still
have 10 question marks that I hope you can help me with. Here is the direct
link to it and the line items with some guesses. The images are available
as links to pdf files.
Dösslag = ?
--- maybe "durkslag" = colander
skärn å hak = ? and hook
--- perhaps "skäre o. hak" = cutter and hacker
stakaqvarn = ?mill
--- "stekpanna" = frying pan
Saltta Had = salt block?
--- I don't know what "Had"/"Hod"(?) can be, it seems the same
in "grytta lak å hada" on page 1.
Julråk = ?
--- ??? something to do with wheel ("hjul") or christmas ("Jul")?
Kållar = ?
kängas = boots
should probably be "Korgar" = baskets
tönka Handkläda = ? hand towel
--- "törka Handkläda" = drying towel
Sölf = Personal?
--- something of cloth, but what?
cow named "goannanas" looks more like "Gomnaros" = ??? rose
maybe "Granna ros" = good-looking rose?
"grann" = good-looking/handsome/beautiful.
til Johanes Olofsson i Dåfverud Kläs päningar
= to J O in D class? money?
--- til Johanes Olofsson i Dåfverud utan sedel (without note)
On page 4 you have "til Johanes Olofsson i Dåfverud Kläs päningar"
"Kläs päningar" could be payment for using the "bår-kläde" (bier
but the amount seems rather large.
Could it be some payment for clothes to the family, or perhaps a
clothing allowance for soldiers?
til Här pastor madalgär för pistimroin
= to Herr Pastor ? for ?
--- ??? the last word seems to start with "past-" and perhaps end
"-aria", but what it could be...
Dätta såmt Bo har wi rittikt upgifwa...
"Dätta vårt Bo har wi rittikt upgifwa..." = This our estate have we
Kerstin’s husband died in 1820. She still had two cows with the same names
as a cow and a heifer left by her husband. Either they are the same
critters or she recycled the names. She had a few other items that could be
from her husband’s estate as well. Fascinating.
