I found three parishes called Nykbing in Denmark. The Nykbing in Maribo,
Denmark, is Nykbing F. Apparently Nykbing M, as marked on that photo, is
Nykbing Mora, as already stated by another poster. There also is a Nykbing

Finn A. Thomsen
I have an ancestor from Nykbing Falster, Maribo, so I suspect Falster is
what the Nykbing F stands for. The index of the above book shows a Nykbing
Strandhuse, so that must be Nykbing S, but maybe not, since there are two
Nykbing S listings in the index. There is also another Nykbing, which is
only in the indexes but not in the list of parishes. That is Nykbing Bugt.
I guess that the Danish like to use the place name Nykbing. :-) I know next
to nothing about Denmark. Those of you who see me as a chatterbox on this
list wouldn't recognize me on the Denmark list. I am just a lurker trying to
learn a bit before I start researching there. :-)
