Thank you for your time on this, Bev. I was hoping there was a full name on this so I
could possibly return the photo to it's rightful descendants.
Here is the photo that goes with the back. Maybe I can just send it to a historical
society in the area.

Hi Brenda -
I did write to the Denmark List with the transcription (below - I think I got most of it
correct since the penmanship is legible), but I have not heard back about a more
comprehensive translation and/or correction if I got anything wrong in my transcription.
Most of the Google Translate version is definitely not right except for the gist of most
of the last sentence. The word "ikke" (which means not) has come down in
American English pronounced as "ick," "icka," or "icky," so
those of us who were born and raised in Scandinavian-American communities can instantly
recognize that, having heard some version of the word so often as children, especially
toddlers ("Nei, nei, nei! Icka!"). :-)
Fografi is an easy translation to 'photograph,' of course. I think this is a
person who has sent a friend a photo comparing how he looks to a mutual friend named Jakob
whom they both know (all three may have been childhood friends). Perhaps it would help us
to see a scan of the photo itself...?
Be aware that most of Scandinavia and Europe are currently having a major heat wave this
summer and there are wildfires in many places, including major fires Sweden (where at
least one person has died fighting the fires). I don't know how it is affecting the
List's people who live there, and whether or not any of them live in areas that have
been evacuated because of the forest fires. Summer being what it is, this is also major
vacation time in Scandinavia and the rest of Europe and many people are on paid vacation
for a month.
In any case, if no one responds for a while, try again in September when people are home,
kids are back in school....
G Glan nok se det er ikke lige.
Nylavet men det er da ikke umulegt vi en anden gang kinde sende it Cedre Exemplar men i

Tak for endnu.
Google Translate comes up with this, although I can see that much of it is not correct:
G Glan enough see it's not right.
Newly made, but it is not impossible for us to send another copy of Cedre's second
time, but you can see what we were looking for, Jacob, and, as nice as I saw him, I might
also think of that damme, but the Breeders were a little bigger but Your childhood flesh
is enough and so shapely ugly without we received the photograph of those we owe. Thanks
for yet again.

I've not done this here before but will try. I found a neat old family
mine) photo with writing on the back. Here is a link to Dropbox if
someone can look at it and tell me what it says, hopefully I can
return the photo to it's family.
