This is the estate inventory for Brita Nilsdotter. Does it mention
--- Year 1799 the 8th April was an inventory conducted of the little
property that in the estate existed after Brita Nilsdotter at Bäcks
Tå(??) who with death departed the 2nd April and survived by a son Nils
Andersson in Kiälegården Bäck(?) who [being] present reported(?) [as
best as he could??] the here after following property that in the estate
It is signed by Anders Pärsson at Bäcks Tåå, presumably the husband.
I am looking for the parents of Nils Andersson, whose marriage record
and death record both say were Anders Pehrsson and Brita Nilsdotter.
--- The son was named Nils Andersson and the husband(?) Anders Pärsson...
His marriage No. 7 in 1788
Valstad C:2 (1757-1809) Image 279 / page 543 (AID: v58195.b279.s543,
--- OK, his age 27, address looks like Källegården Bäck.
His death 21/5/1805

v55624.b165.s317, NAD: SE/GLA/13616)
--- OK, age 43, tenant farmer in Stenhusgården Åsaka.
This is the last time I find him with his parents.

--- Address Bäck Källegården, they had come 1769 from Yllestad. The son
Nils Andersson recorded as born 1762 Yllestad.
There is a gap in the household examination records between 1787 and
1806. During this time, if I am following the correct couple, Brita
died and Anders married a widow named Maria Anderssotter.
Death of Brita Nilsdotter in April 1799, but the patronymics of her
parents do not match those on her marriage record.
Valstad C:2 (1757-1809) Image 132 / page 253 (AID: v58195.b132.s253,
--- Her age fits with a birth 1733, and the address is "Tåen i Bäck"
Parents Nils Andersson and Kjerstin Nilsdotter.
Where have you seen her marriage record?
Anders is here, which I think is the place where the above Brita died.
Valstad AI:6 (1806-1814) Image 27 / page 45 (AID: v58174.b27.s45, NAD:
--- He is a lodger somewhere in Bäck village.
There seems to be two wifes named Maria Andersdotter, one born 1740(?)
and one born 1755.
Or is the first one a corrected error?
His second marriage is the first one in 1805
Valstad C:2 (1757-1809) Image 284 / page 553 (AID: v58195.b284.s553,
--- He is widower at Bäcks Tå, she a widow at Hvalstads Tå.
He died August 21, 1811.
Valstad C:3 (1810-1850) Image 152 / page 328 (AID: v58196.b152.s328,
--- OK, age 82, address Bäcks Tå, parents Pähr and Ingrid.
I don't think his estate inventory mentions any heirs except his wife.

--- Year 1811 the 10th October was on appropriate request lawful estate
inventory conducted after deceased Anders Pehrsson at Bäcks Tåå who with
death departed the 21st August [nearest??] and survived by his in [his]
lifetime dear wife Maria Andersdotter, who reported the property, and
was found [to be] as follows, namely.
I am not sure if these are the parents of Nils Andersson. He was dead
before his father's death but he had at least two children who were
alive. Is there anything in the inventories which would indicate that
these are the parents of Nils?
--- It all fits with the evidence, the inventory after Brita Nilsdotter
mentioned one son Nils Andersson, and it was signed by Anders Pärsson at
And no children mentioned in the inventory after Anders Persson, and
your Nils Andersson was already dead then.
BTW, the "Tå" (toe) was an area of the parish set aside for poor people
to build cottages. Presumably Anders Persson and Brita Nilsdotter moved
there when their son took over as farmer at Bäck Källegården.
But the names are very common, so I think it is possible (but not
likely) that they are unrelated...
