The 1755 records seem to be the beginning at this location for the family
(1140.3.85300). I was trying to see where the prior records might be and am
surmising they might have moved in from somewhere else. I suppose the prior
records could be further along in this volume, though? what do you think?
I will go through this book page by page if need be, but I'd rather as a
last resort as there are so many pages. And if they aren't in this volume,
any suggestions to figure out where they lived before 1755? I had looked at
what appear to be in/out records (1140.42.4600) for 1755 but I am not sure,
as they are so dense with information and the records seem to run-on into
Thank you for finding the 1760-1762 record (1140.3.86000). It came just a
few pages past the 1775-1778 record (I should have ventured farther along
for awhile). You say that this 1760-62 record says: he had been
"commenderad" to Kristianstad(?). Since I have the 1755-1758 and 1760-1775
periods covered, and am missing the 1759 period, I am wondering if that
comment might refer to the past (rather than the future) when he was in
I had looked at the 1774 deaths and nothing jumped out as Elsa's at the
moment. And if it had, the handwriting (as usual) hampers us novices. I am
learning, though, with much help from folks here on this forum.

His title is "Sold" (soldat = soldier), first recorded communion 21 Oct
1755, no indication that they move away.

communion dates up to 1 Jan 1762, and a remark that he had been
"commenderad" to Kristianstad(?).
And next on page 492 (GID 1140.3.108700), where he has communion dates
In the next HFL volume they are found 1766-1775 in GID 1140.5.5700

--- The remark in the 1766-1770 section is probably about the son Jöns
born 1755, who is crossed out.
But it seems he returns, because he is added at the bottom in the

--- maid ("Pig") Elsa(??) Jönsdotter, she was with the family also in
1760 (GID 1140.3.86000) and 1763-1765 (GID 1140.3.108700).
Perhaps there are clues in her death record?
