I’m helping some friends with their genealogy research and am trying to find relatives to
them in the U.S. They have quite a lot of information but I have not been able to find
anything on Ancestry, except for one record.
The info I have is this:
Bertil Andersson, born March 22, 1904 in Sweden (Värnamo).
Emigrated January 22, 1923 to the U.S.
I have found him in the 1930 census, Bertil Anderson, 26 years old, married to Rosemary
Andersson, 20 years old. They live in Rockford, Illinois (could be 1915 East State Street
or maybe 1915 Peal Street). They married when Bertil was 23 and Rosemary 17. Rosemary is
born in Illinois but have Swedish parents. Bertil works as a painter.
I have also found him in SSDI, SSN 348-05-7494, and he died in Dec 1961 in Illinois.
That’s the only information I’ve been able to find on Ancestry or anywhere else. The
census was before their children were born.
Their relatives here in Sweden know the following:
Bertil and is wife had two children, Elaine and Bernhard. At least one of them graduated
from high school in Illinois.
Elaine married Jack Wilson and they had three daughters. Two of them are twins: Ginger
Lynn and Debra Yvonne, born August 25, 1953. The third daughter’s name might be Monica
Bernhard was probably in the army, maybe the airforce.
Is there anyone who is familiar with research in the Rockford area and how to be able to
find out something about Bertil’s descendants?
