First; thank you very much to you who have replied to my search for Haglund
& Björn/Bjorn. I´ll check the details I have about them now and will be
Have you seen that the Swedish census of population of 1890 is now on line?
It´s at: http://www.foark.umu.se/folk/
and only in Swedish so far, and
not yet complete - but if you are looking for relatives from any of the
districts/provinces of Värmland, Västernorrland, Jämtland, Norrbotten or
Västerbotten, you might find something there.
The university providing this service warns you thought that this is all
second hand material, as it´s been transcribed straight from the
handwriting on the original documents, and whatever was wrong there, or
difficult to read because of old handwriting, will thus be wrong here too.
I´ve found one year being all wrong for one of my ancestors, some people I
can´t find and don´t understand why, and one person here has a slightly
different name - Helena instead of Hilma. Then again, that might have been
here official birth name?
On the other hand you might find information on people´s profession, and
about other people living in the same household ( often old parents or
parents in law).
Go to http://www.foark.umu.se/folk/
- choose the province - then click on
'SÖK i databasen' >>them you´ll get to the form.
