Do you happen to know where your Erik (1859) was born? I've seen other
the areas that I've been concentrating my efforts on in the county of Varmland,
I have learned that Chicago had one of the highest percentages of Swedes
living there in the late 1800's of all the
cities in America.
Thanks for emailing me! I will keep your email filed in case I run across
something that either links our Nystroms, or
might be of help to you.
I too have Nystrom family, but my information is limited. My great
grandfather was Erik Nystrom, born 1859 and died 1939. He married Thilda
Svedell, born 1863 in Sundborn and died 1947.
They had two children;
Erik Sven born 1886, married Eva Hammar, one daughter, Ingegard.
Augusta born 1890 and died 1970. She married Erik Johansson in Sweden about
1908. He was born in 1886, and committed suicide in 1943. They had two
children, Rut Teresa 1909 and Erik Einar 1914 (my grandfather). They all
emigrated through New York in 1924 and settled in Chicago.
