As far as using Ancestry vs Genline. The day came that my Genline subscription expired
and I was forced to use the Swedish Church records on Ancestry. I have found that I go to
the Ancestry card catalog and bring up the Swedish Church records. The search form
allows a line to use the GID from Genline so that has worked well. I have found some
Household Examinations by using the Ancestry search. The Ancestry search does not allow
for a way to advance by 5 page increments so I have had to go from page to page when
looking for a villiage within a Parish. But I am learning.
I have only used Ancestry and have just started my Swedish research so have not
learned the ins and outs yet. I have only searched one parish so far, and only the
household examinations, but it was easy to go by 5 page increments by just changing the
page number at the top by 5 and hitting go, rather than going a page at a time. And the
books I was looking at had indexes at the front with page numbers for each village so I
could go directly to the village I was looking for.
