Hej. I do have more information about the family, have visited Sweden etc.
Initially hoped that someone with a family link might be also involved with
rootsweb. I may have to start one myself.

Subject: SV: [Sweden] family Nordin and Flodin
You will do best in getting info on Swedish genealogy research at SweGGate
Regarding timeframe, we here in Sweden have a legislation for privacy on
(50 years for alien citizens) on personal data, you might get
confirmation on your fathers facts if the authority concider revealing his
personal data would not hurt him nor his family, and if you state and prove
your relation to him.
If and when you have knowledge about his parish of birth, you might
local parish and ask for his birth info (parents, siblings).
(Normally the local tax authority (Folkbokföringen), keep the population
and have his birth info, and parents, siblings info, but only thoose
living here from and after 1991. You say he died 1968 abroad.)
You could ask this list for a lookup of his fathers death at the CD
Dödbok, where deaths until 1999 are listed, and have the place of
death where perhaps his children are/were living, and thereafter ask for a
lookup in the local phone directory (not available online) and as mentioned
above contact the local parish.
