I am trying to research a fairly strong DNA match (3rd to 5th cousin),
matching myself and a 3rd cousin here in the U.S.. It's an exciting
opportunity because my cousin just recently submitted DNA and this find
allows me to focus on 6 living ancestors who I know are related to us by
way of a specific set of 2nd Great Grandparents.
In studying her Family Tree on the DNA site, I think the best possibility
is a 4th Great Grandfather:
From research several years ago I know:
His marriage information:
Wife: Boele Olsdotter
Date: 21 May 1769
Place: Hjärnarp, Kristianstad, Sweden
I probably found this marriage after working my way backward from my
immigrant great grandmother. For some reason, I quit working on this
branch, perhaps for the same reason I am now asking the email group for
It appears that the Household Exams begin in 1818. Are these records lost
before this date or possibly included under another Parish name?
My DNA match shows an Ola Jonsson,
Born: Bassholma Tåssjö Feb. 15, 1756
I would guess that my Sahne Jonsson could be born between 20 and 30 years
prior to his marriage, so that would be 1739 to 1749, close enough to be a
Also Hjärnarp and Tåssjö are reasonably close so I thought this was worth
more research work, but I can't figure out how to go about finding more
information about my Sahne.
Any advice would be appreciated.
