Rootsweb has one tree with Edward senior and junior on it, Edward senior's wife named
Both Edward's birthplace given as Kent, England. This tree has a full family for
Edward STEER junior, marriage to Elizabeth Ann LAMPMAN and several children, 2nd marriage
to Priscilla C. UNKNOWN, who possibly died in childbirth, and several more children.
This fits in with what you have found. But who they are remains a mystery.

Yes the two Edward's & Sarah are together in the 1861 Canada census, I'll
have to dig out the details tomorrow, and look for George but both Edward's
are shown C of E then.
I found Edward juniors marriage that shows his mother was Annie, so Sarah is
a second or later marriage for Edward senior:

An Edward STEER & Ann had the following children baptised:
John at Edenbridge, Kent, 23 Dec 1827.
George at Edenbridge, Kent, 8 Nov 1829.
Edward at Brasted, Kent, 25 Mar 1832.
In 1833 an Ann wife of Edward STEER aged 28 was buried in Edenbridge
together with John son of Edward & Ann aged 5. Just to mess things up the
Edward STEER aged 16 months of Brasted was also buried in Edenbridge in
1833, and if it helps so was Mary STEER aged 66.
This cannot be the Edward who married Ann Field DALTON as he was buried in
1842 and his son Edward married Ann DUTNALL in 1844 then emigrated to
