to follow up on Beth's thread and not intending to flame anyone just
but who is a Burgher? How do you self identify as a Burgher without
others? I am familiar with Rodney Ferdinand's rant and Michael Robert's
in between stuff, but I can think of many more Singhalese or Tamils or Moors
the lot that can also be included under "Burgher", I prefer to go with
Ceylonese to include all those Anglophiles from the period of 1800 - 1970.

I was a lansia in School so I know I am a Burgher, well in Ceylon at least
a hamburger in Canada?
