Can you tell me what type of information is contained in the Almanac.
My Davidson ancestors were living in Ceylon during this period. My grt,
grt grandfather James Davidson was buried in Kandy 2/3/1845. He originally
went to Ceylon as Paymaster with the 78th Seaforth Highland Regiment but
resigned in 1831 and stayed on in Kandy until his death in 1845. He was
variously described as a General Merchant and Government Contractor. His
wife Isabella (nee Somerville) died in Kandy in 1838 and at least one
daughter, Laelia, died between 1837 and 1845, we do not know whether he
remarried. At the time of his death my Grt grandmother Jane and at least
one of her sisters (Elizabeth) were living in Kandy, and a brother, Martin
Lindsay Davidson was living in Badulla, two cousins John and James, sons of
John Davidson and Jane Somerville were also living in Ceylon.
If the Almanac contains any references to businesses and/or people living in
Ceylon I would like to obtain further information.
Looking forward to hearing from you,

I've been looking at some pages of the Ceylon Almanac, 1845. Trouble is,
jumps from page 94 to 99. Can I find these missing pages anywhere else?
