I knew someone on this list would come up trumps! Thank you ever so much, it is most
deeply appreciated! You have helped to give a
Name to a child that was known about, but no name was ever mentioned. I will have great
pleasure in being able to confirm the child’s name to the family, it’s just a shame it was
through a burial record.
Sincerest thanks once again! Kindest regards,

Subject: [SRILANKA] BRIDGES STEVENS - Ceylon
I. I’ve been tracing the BRIDGES STEVENS family and came across a birth
announcement in a newspaper in England regarding a son born to George
BRIDGES STEVENS and his wife Charlotte nee MOORE. The child was born at
Ceylon on 3rd September 1911, but I understand he didn’t survive.
I have found, with the help of Google, a reference to a burial in Ceylon
inbetween 1909 and 1919 of a Charles BRIDGES STEVENS, but no date or age is
I. I know that George’s father also named Charles BRIDGES STEVENS died at
London on 8th January 1911, but I somehow doubt he was buried in Ceylon?
II. Is there anyone who has access to births and deaths /burials who would
be able to clarify if the child born 3rd Sept 1911 is the same person buried
between 1909 and 1919 please?
Sincerest thanks for any help you can give, kindest regards to all,
