I am reading the account of the Kandy campaign and massacre in 1803 online. It is
harrowing but fascinating. If anyone has access to JSTOR (I have it through the Open
University but it's also available through libraries/institutions), it is called:
The Ceylon Expedition of 1803 by V. M. Methley published in Transactions of the Royal
Historical Society, 4th Ser., Vol. 1, 1918 (1918), pp. 92-128
Lots of names of members of the 19th, 21st, 51st British regiments are mentioned, as well
as those of Malay and other "colonial" troops.
