I think I paid around 40 pounds for the Tombstones book and it's a source of
endless fascination because it builds up a picture of life on the island for
colonials -although I long ago extracted all the information on my
relatives. It is sold as a reprint (1994) through an Indian publisher called
Navrang which also has offices in the US.

What can I say???? You have given me what I have been trying to find
for many years. Do you by any chance have a copy of that book
yourself? Would it be at all possible to get a copy of the relevant
page? Either a scan or a digital photo? I have just browsed and found
that it is indeed a very rare book and saw a copy for sale for $500 -
far more than my age pension could afford.
I have forwarded your information to my relative in New Zealand and I am
sure she also will be dancing with joy. Do you know whether there are
records of bdms available from Sri Lanka or India?
A very grateful
Val (Bundaberg, Qld. Aus.) :-)
