would my John Campbell have...but it is so tantalising finding so many, and
not knowing if there is any connection
I have found AIM in the NLA catalogue and have investigated whether they
can be borrowed, but no luck there. I would have to tell NLA exactly what I
I have only a few dates of events in the family, in Ceylon, but would love
to sit and peruse the full issues to find some new information.for which I
have no dates, such as
" On which ship in late 1859, did John Campbell and family travel from West
Australia to Ceylon""
"Did Mary , John's wife, .widowed.with four children under 8 years and
under, remarry after his death in 1862, and to whom?" and
"when did Mary Campbell or new married name die?"
"When did Colin Campbell a surveyor and son of John, die in the Jungles of
I know I'm probably asking the impossible, but these are the questions that
keep popping into my head ..
The Ceylon almanac seems not to exist for 1860 in which I could have found
the arrival of the Campbell family in the shipping pages., nor does it seem
to exist for 1861 which may have given me John's occupation., but I did
find John Campbell at Fort in Ferguson's of 1862.
I'm off to do some more surfing for Campbell's.
