Thank you for all who helped in my quest to find the death of Harriet. I posted a query
about finding the death of Harriet Colepeper. She was married to J.S. Colepeper Police
Superintendent for Colombo and Kandy. She left Ceylon in 1835 and I couldn't find a
death entry in general registration in England so had assumed she may have died at sea. A
fellow genealogist suggested I try under another name, maiden name maybe. She was married
first to Frederick Thompson and I found her in the Burial Registry of St John's
Church, Hackney in April 1855 under the name of Harriott (not Harriet) Thompson. Her 2nd
husband JSC was also named in the Burial Registry of this church. Maybe one of her
children (all Thompsons) entered her name as Thompson or could be another reason!!!
I'll never know.
I thought that as I asked for help I should at least let who helped me know that I have
solved the mystery.
