Hullo Kathleen........when I was on the Genbrit list I had the fllowing
reply on the above subject from Barney Tyrwhitt-Drake....
BMD Records for Ceylon are held by the Registrar-General in Colombo, Sri
Lanka. You might think they would be in the India Office Library along
with those for the rest of the sub-continent, but they're not. The East
India Company only administered Ceylon from 1795-1802. The India Office
Library has the adminstration records for those years, and for all other
periods you'll need to look in the colonial administration records in
the PRO in Kew.
I looked at the records available at the LDS Family History Centre also
to be seen on ...... IGI on line....
Dutch Reformed Church 1724-1797
as above...correspondence of the Colombo Consistory with the
Presbyterian Tamil mission Minutes book ..1927.
List of Ceylon Inscriptions on tombs and
monuments of Europeans.....no dates.
