Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
The LDS Church has added some records for Colombo to their familysearch
record search website. The collection is called "Sri Lanka, Colombo
District Dutch Reformed Church Records, 1677-1990" and inclues images of
baptisms, marriages, memberships, deaths, minutes, correspondence and other
records. At this point it is not searchable; you can only browse through the
documents. Luckily, there are indexes to the records so it is possible to
find what you are looking for.
Just a head's up--this collection will be moving to beta.familysearch.org in
the next few weeks, so the link above will not work in the future.
Hope this is helpful to someone.
Hello Coreen and others,
I have just found the following in the online 1853 edition:
Page 326 CEYLON DAVIDSON, wife of A s at Colombo April 24th
Can anyone please tell me what the 's' stands for. I was expecting a 'd' for death.
Son. Likewise, d. would be daughter.
