Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Just resubmitting my names in case someone has joined us and has a
David James Manzie born Scotland, 1818, married Mary Ann Atwell 1844 Ceylon.
Mary Ann was the daughter of James Atwell, who served in the British Army
in Ceylon and Mary or Ann. She was born England but all her siblings were
born in Ceylon, between 1840-1850. I believe her siblings remained in
David and Mary Ann emigrated to Australia between 1861 and 1864. They
settled in Victoria. I would love to learn more about their time in Ceylon.
Since Patrick served in the Army, and I see that you haven't applied for his
Army records, that is one step you could take in OZ..to find the names of
His wife Jessie also served
Another avenue for you, is to apply for his death certificate.. both Patrick
and his wife Jessie Clare are buried in Karrakatta cemetery Western
Patrick William Northway died in Cottesloe in 1977, aged 69 years and Jessie
Clare Northway died in Cottesloe aged 84 yrs in 1999.
Patrick and Jessie Clare DAILY married in Perth in 1941 and the Index number
to obtain their marriage certificate is Perth 2382

Does anyone have NORTHWAY from Kahogolla in their Family
I found Kahagolla on the map... can anyone tell me in 1908 would this have been a big town...it is inland a little... what sort of industry would have been there then...
