Yes, the Church was CofE.
I asked the Local Registrar specifically for a copy from the Parish Register
and the groom and witness' signatures are pretty much identical to the copy
from the LMA.
So, I have two identical certificates, except the groom's father is recorded
as Richard on one and Robert on the other!
I am still scratching my head about this and I will do as you suggest and
speak to the LMA. Obviously I need a copy of the (original) Church Record,
wherever that may be.
