>Having been away from home until late last Saturday, it's only
I noticed an item in the local weekly newspaper (Wiltshire Times) hat a
meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday 29 July at County Hall in Trowbridge
of the first meeting of the "Scrutiny Record Office Task Group". I had not
heard that such a group had been set up.<<
I passed on your message to a prominent member of both SoG and Wiltshire
FHS. This was the reply:
>>>I did not know about this meeting but Wiltshire FHS have
involved in the choice of site.
Chippenham was my first choice because it is on the M4, A4 and Main Line
Railway and far easier to access than Trowbridge and Devizes.
Tom Craig, Heritage Officer of Wiltshire County Council was invited by
Wiltshire FHS to address their AGM in June this year and gave a progress
report and outlined the work done to date and progress made on the
provision of the New Record Office at CHIPPENHAM.
Wiltshire FHS Executive Committee has been kept fully in the picture at
How was the meeting? Or did you miss it? The date you gave was Tuesday
29th July. Today is 30th!
