From what I know of the history of the Town of Eastbourne, the
Martello tower forts where being constructed at this time. Could your ancestor have been
involved with their being built?

Subject: [SOG-UK] Birth in Sussex of Liverpool man
My 5 x gg parents were married in Liverpool in 1799. Their first child, my 4
x gg father, was christened at St Mary's Eastbourne in Sussex in 1800. All
the subsequent children were christened back in Liverpool at Paradise St
Unitarian Chapel between 1803 and 1812.
Has anyone any thoughts on why a couple from Liverpool have been in
Eastbourne at this time? I doubt that they were on holiday.
Thanks in advance,
