Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I'm sure one of the experts on this List can enlighten me, by letting me
know what "the age limit of liability to recall" was for someone belonging
to the Reserve of Officers in 1946, at which time he was granted the
honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel. I've googled unsuccessfully, only
managing to unearth references to criminals and mental health patients <g>.
Needless to say, I don't know the person's year of birth, since he doesn't
appear in the indexes for England and Wales, Scotland, or Overseas Records
(I haven't been able to search the Irish indexes yet).
Thanks in anticipation
At the risk of duplication I have actual copies of the 1841 and 1871
enumerators instructions, plus the 1851 and 1861 household instructions and
several other items such as penalty notices, return forms, ship instructions
etc. on my website
http://www.hunimex.com/warwick/warks_cen.html is the page on census returns
Can someone please point me to a URL posting the official instructions given
to census enumerators?
