P.S. I doubt that Victoria is reading messages, but in fairness, she
contributed a huge amount to online data for SCGenWeb and NCGenWeb. I think
she became weary of the administrative work over time.

Subject: [SCGENWEB] SCGenWeb
I am in communication with Rootsweb and we are working to determine
whatthe full situation is with Victoria Proctor and all of the counties. In
mycapacity as National Coordinator, I am stepping back into this and will
bethe acting SC until everything gets straightened out. Rootsweb is
morethan willing to work with me, just as they have with me on
MNGenWeb.Rootsweb is attempting to contact Victoria and will keep me
apprised oftheir results. We have been in touch a couple of times today,
and we haveto address this situation in the right way.It doesn't appear
that SCGenWeb has enough CCs to call for Victoria'sremoval at this point in
time and I am the only person that Rootsweb willturn over the sites to.If
Victoria does not appear and take care of SCGenWeb appropriately, itwill
take me moving this forward so that all that do want to retain
theircounties can get the assistance that they need.We are now in the
process of putting together a new temporary state pagethat will go onl!
ine as soon as it is feasible, especially if Victoriadecides to remove
the current state page.If you are a CC in SC and would like to retain your
county, please let meknow. My goal is to keep as many CCs with their
counties as possible. I doknow that several CCs have resigned or just
disappeared. I will keep youapprised as we move forward in getting SCGenWeb
back into the swing and getit moving forward again. I've been working with
MNGenWeb and it is movingforward nicely given the sad shape it was in. I
can do the same thing forSCGenWeb and get new CCs moving into SC so it will
grow and make visitsmore enjoyable for researchers.Once that is done and in
place, the state can have a proper election andhopefully have at a minimum
2-3 people from whom to choose their new SC.Thanks for your patience as we
move through this process. Thanks for your cooperation and
understanding.Denise WellsNational CoordinatorThe USGenWeb
